A Message from Our President & CEO
Dear Members,
I’m excited to share that RRCU has taken a major step forward in our digital transformation journey! Over the weekend of April 4th–7th, we successfully completed a core system upgrade—our first in over 40 years. This new platform brings faster transaction processing, enhanced security, and the flexibility to grow with future technology.
While the transition has gone remarkably well, as with any exciting upgrade, there have been a few brief adjustments along the way. If you’ve ever experienced a system enhancement at work, you know it takes a little time to fine-tune and fully optimize all the new capabilities.
Our team is working diligently to fine-tune processes and ensure everything runs seamlessly. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this period. These early adjustments are opening the door to a faster, more secure, and more seamless banking experience—one we’re confident you’ll truly enjoy.

New Branch in DeQueen, AR
We held our DeQueen Branch Grand Opening on June 10th for the new location.
Visit us at 117 Highway 71 N. in, DeQueen, AR and get to know our staff for all your financial needs. This new location offers drive-up ITM with Express Teller Service (Monday-Saturday, 7AM to 7PM), larger lobby and additional parking in back.

RRCU Awards 10 Scholarships to Outstanding Senior Students
RRCU is proud to announce the awarding of ten $1500 scholarships to outstanding high school seniors as part of its ongoing commitment to education and community support. These scholarships recognize the hard work, dedication, and achievements of local students, empowering them to pursue higher education, begin their journey into financial education and achieve their academic dreams.
Congratulations to: Brooklynne Shaw (Ford High School), Emma Campbell (Redwater High School), Jacelyn Brown (Fouke High School), Kabrean King (Arkansas High School), Kaeden Lichty (Hooks High School), Keele Youngblood (Atlanta High School), Kimberli Garica Olade (Texas High School), Noah Griffin (Pleasant Grove High School), Reece Wilson (Rivercrest High School) and Zoe Hawkins (James Bowie High School).
Each year, RRCU offers scholarships to deserving students who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. “I am beyond honored to receive a scholarship from RRCU. Having a credit union in my community that consistently gives back is truly meaningful. This support reinforces the importance of investing in education and the future of students like myself,” said Kabrean King, scholarship recipient. This year's recipients were selected from a competitive pool of applicants, and their achievements reflect the values of dedication, integrity, and perseverance that our credit union champions.
"We are honored to support these talented students on their educational journey," said Emily Bright, Financial Advocate at RRCU. "As they take the next step, we also encourage them to embrace financial literacy as a key to long-term success.”
The scholarship recipients will use the funds to support their college tuition and expenses as they embark on the next chapter of their academic careers. RRCU remains committed to fostering opportunities for young minds and strengthening the community through educational initiatives. Partnering schools qualify for their seniors to be able to apply by: hosting a Reality Fair, attending a Community Reality Fair and/or having a representative come to the school for classroom presentations.

Recap of Annual Business Meeting
Red River Employees Federal Credit Union held its 82nd Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 6:00 p.m., in the lobby of our Summerhill Road Office located at 4405 Summerhill Road, Texarkana, TX.
The election of Board Directors’ were filled by acclamation since there were no nominations submitted by petition. In accordance with the credit union bylaws, the following individuals will serve three-year terms: Annette Lynch, Mike Jones, and Robert Sheppard.

Bryan DePriest leads our commercial lending team and has been an essential part of the growth and success of our commercial lending division. With over 23 years of banking experience and with 14 of those years being at RRCU, Bryan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this department. Bryan and his team focus on delivering outstanding value and service to our members.
Kobey Mabry has over 13 years of experience with RRCU. Aside from commercial lending, Kobey oversees commercial deposit operations for the credit union. His multifaceted role reflects his commitment to innovation and efficiency for members and internal teams in all aspects of the credit union’s services.
With just over 10 years of banking experience, Bob Bruggeman dedicates time and effort for lasting relationships through our communities. In this role, Bob assists businesses with their financial needs, aiming to support their success.
With over 20 years of banking experience, Brandi Falting cultivates relationships with businesses and community partners in our Shreveport/Bossier City market. Home to Bossier City, Brandi spends a generous amount of time networking and volunteering.
Lance Wharton is the newest addition to the RRCU commercial lending team. With over 17 years in the financial industry, he joined Red River Credit Union because of its member centric approach to lending combined with the RRCU’s focus on teamwork and the value placed on professional and personal growth. Unlike many other financial institutions, he understands that Red River Credit Union doesn’t just claim to be member-focused—it truly lives up to that promise. As a commercial lender, he is excited to build strong personal relationships with business members, understanding their unique needs and helping them achieve their financial goals.

Branch Holiday Closings
- Independence Day (Friday, July 4th) all locations will be closed.
- Labor Day (Monday, September 1st) all full-service branch lobbies and drive-thru lanes will be closed. All ITMs with Express Tellers and Texarkana Express locations will be open during regular hours.
