Texarkana Area Reality Fair

We are excited to announce our upcoming First Annual Community REALITY FAIR happening in Texarkana (TX) on October 10, 2023, at the Texarkana (TX) Convention Center at 2910 S Cowhorn Creek Loop, Texarkana, TX 75503!

This event is being held for our local area schools to provide a real life simulation of #adulting for students! Did you know that 40% of Americans can’t cover a $400 emergency expense without borrowing money or selling something? As a Credit Union principle, we are here to help provide our community with financial literacy and do our best to prepare students ahead of time for their financial future.   

This fair will be a great opportunity for students to learn and practice real-world budgeting skills. Students will participate in a fun and exciting simulation of what their adult spending and budgeting might look like. 

Students will be partnered and given an occupation and monthly income to begin their financial journey. By visiting each area of the Reality Fair, they are able to make life decisions and do their best to stay within budget. They should watch out though, just like real life, an unexpected expense may sneak up on them!
