The date for membership/account conversions from NWLA to RRCU systems is quickly approaching and we are excited to get you fully transitioned into the RRCU Family. RRCU mailed out copies of RRCU Account Agreement & Disclosures Change in Terms Notice and Change in Terms Fee Notice. These changes will go into effect and apply to your account(s) on the conversion date of July 1, 2023, if you haven't already transitioned your account(s) to RRCU. 

Still in the NWLA system? We encourage you to visit the NW Jewella Branch (7070 Jewella Ave.) for our staff to assist in transitioning you to RRCU before June 15th. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to call us at 903-735-3000 or visit any RRCU branch location.

RRCU mailed out a second and final reminder letters to NWLA Members with Credit Life & Disability (Optional Debt Cancellation Addendum Program) or Debt Cancellation (American National Insurance Company). Please be sure to complete and return the contact enclosed in your letter as soon as possible to ensure seamless coverage.

RRCU mailed out letters to NWLA Members with Credit Life & Disability (Optional Debt Cancellation Addendum Program) or Debt Cancellation (American National Insurance Company) with the following information: 

• June 30, 2023 - Current Credit Life & Disability or Debt Cancellation on your loan will end.
• If a member wishes to continue coverage, RRCU offers MEMBER'S CHOICE Borrower Security for both.
• If choosing MEMBER'S CHOICE Borrower Security, please complete and return the contract enclosed with the letter by mail. 
• If choosing not to select MEMBER'S CHOICE Borrower Security, do nothing and current coverage will end June 30, 2023.

RRCU mailed out letters to NWLAFCU Visa^® Credit Card Holders with the following information:

1. July 15, 2023 - NWLAFCU Visa Credit Card accounts will be transferred to an RRCU Platinum Visa Credit Card by this date.
2. Before July 15, 2023 - Cardholders may activate and begin using their new card before the transfer date. Use the activation number on the sticker affixed to the card front. 
3. After activation - RRCU will close all NWLAFCU credit card accounts and move any existing balances over to new RRCU Visa credit cards. Cardholders may view, pay, and manager the new credit card using RRCU's digital banking access. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CREDIT CARD HOLDERS: If you choose not to accept your new credit card, you may opt out. Notify the RRCU credit card department by June 15, 2023, at 1-800-822-3317 or in writing at: RRCU, PO Box 5909, Texarkana, TX 75505.  By opting out, you may choose to close your account and payoff the balance by July 1, 2023.  If there is a balance remaining as of July 1, 2023, and you opted out, that balance will be transferred to a new account number with RRCU.  This new account will be set up as a closed account and no new credit card will be issued to you.  Your current credit card will no longer be valid as of July 1, 2023.

RRCU mailed out letters recently to let members know the following updates:

1. The NW Jewella branch, at 7070 Jewella Ave in Shreveport, is open for business as usual with the same friendly faces and excellent member service. At this time, you may continue to write checks, use your Northwest Louisiana FCU debit card, and access online banking at nwlafcu.org through your existing account and account number.
2. The process of transitioning your Northwest Louisiana FCU account with Red River Credit Union will begin July 1, 2023. You can expect to receive additional information in the mail regarding your new member number, how to reorder checks, how to access your account in online/mobile banking, how to transfer over your direct deposit and much more.
3. Prior to July 1st, you may choose to transition your account at the NW Jewella branch in person. This is highly encouraged, as a new debit card can be issued to you on the spot, your new checks can be ordered and the paperwork to transfer your direct deposit can be completed. Member Service Representatives are ready to help you! Call 318-686-5438 to make an appointment or simply drop in.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as a new RRCU member. The merger agreement between Northwest Louisiana Federal Credit Union (NWLAFCU) and Red River Employees Federal Credit Union (RRCU) was approved by majority vote of the membership with an effective date of April 1, 2023.

The NW Jewella branch at 7070 Jewella Ave. in Shreveport is open for business as usual with the same friendly faces and excellent member service. At this time, you can continue to write checks, use your debit card, and access online banking.

Your account funds remain insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. Administered by NCUA, the Share Insurance Fund insures individual accounts up to $250,000, and a member’s interest in all joint accounts combined is insured up to $250,000. The Share Insurance Fund separately protects IRA and KEOGH retirement accounts up to $250,000. The Share Insurance Fund has the backing of the full faith and credit of the United States. You may visit the MyCreditUnion.gov website at any time for more information about your insurance coverage.
