Financial Education
Building financial security through education

Financial Education

Welcome to Red River Credit Union's Financial Literacy page! We believe that building financial security starts with education, and we are proud to offer a variety of financial courses, presentations, and workshops to the communities we serve.

Our outreach program is designed for students (pre-K through 12th grade) and the adult community in our field of membership areas. In addition, we host reality fairs for students to practice making choices about housing, transportation, food, clothing, etc. with a limited amount of income. We understand the importance of understanding budgeting, credit scores, identity theft, and so much more, which is why our financial education program is a learned skill, just like any other class a student would study in high school.

On average, individuals who complete our financial program spend less money on wants and save twice as much as those who have not received financial knowledge! We offer a variety of financial topics to target specific needs and interests, including Essential Banking Basics, Budgeting, Using Credit Wisely, Identity Theft, and Taxes 101.

Student Intern Program

Red River Credit Union offers a unique Student Teller/Intern Program, providing high school students with an opportunity to work in our student branch and acquire skills in the financial industry at a young age. The program gives the student tellers real-world experience by working at a variety of departments/locations after school with seasoned employees. We know this program is beneficial for the students we hire and the schools we partner with.
